Project Overview
Supporting Saudi Arabia's Renewable Energy Vision
As Saudi Arabia accelerates the development of renewable energy infrastructure under Vision 2030, reliable transmission networks play a critical role in delivering clean energy from generation facilities to the national grid.
Venus Energy successfully executed key transmission infrastructure works for the Bisha IPP Solar & Renewables Project, one of the Kingdom’s large-scale renewable energy developments.
The project involved the construction of a 132 kV Twin Double Circuit Overhead Transmission Line, supporting the evacuation and transmission of power generated from the 3 GW Bisha One Renewable Power Project.
This infrastructure plays an important role in strengthening grid connectivity while supporting the Kingdom’s long-term energy diversification goals.
Project Objectives
Delivering Infrastructure for Clean Energy Integration
Reliable evacuation of renewable energy
Enhanced grid connectivity
Support for Saudi Vision 2030 energy initiatives
Improved power transmission reliability
Long-term renewable energy development

CHALLENGE
Delivering Infrastructure in Extreme Desert Conditions
The project was located within a remote desert environment where extreme temperatures and challenging site conditions required additional planning and operational controls.
In addition to environmental challenges, the project was required to comply with the world-class safety and quality standards established by ACWA Power and L&T Saudi Arabia.
The Venus Solution
Safety-Driven Execution for Successful Project Delivery
An alternative foundation method adopted in rock strata, keeping construction safe, efficient and on programme.
GPS-Based Vehicle Monitoring
GPS tracking systems were installed in project vehicles to improve operational visibility, workforce safety, and movement control across the project site.
Heat Stress Management
To protect workers from extreme temperatures, mandatory midday breaks were implemented between 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM in accordance with project safety requirements.
Workforce Medical Screening
All personnel completed medical fitness assessments before entering the project site, ensuring workforce readiness and compliance with project safety standards.
Successful Execution
Project activities were executed in alignment with the stringent safety and quality systems established by ACWA Power and L&T Saudi Arabia.
